Property management firm opens in S. Kona
South Island Realty Ltd. is a new company started by Rick and Meghan Shively in Captain Cook.
Meghan Shively has been licensed in Hawaii since 1992 and a real estate broker since 2005. She has extensive experience in property management. Rick Shively has been active in real estate sales since 2003.
South Island Realty Ltd. will primarily be a full service property management company specializing in long-term rentals, caretaking and association management as well as sales.
The new office is located in the Captain Cook Shopping Center just past the Napoopoo junction in Captain Cook, across the street from the Aloha Gas Station and next door to Antiques and Orchids.

Rapoza elected postmasters’ national president
Bob Rapoza, postmaster of Honokaa, was elected Sept. 15 to a two-year term as national president of the National Association of Postmasters of the United States during the organization’s national convention in Anchorage, Alaska. He will assume office on Jan. 1 and reside in Alexandria, Va.
Rapoza, 64, is the first Hawaii postmaster chosen to lead the association in the organization’s 111 years of representing the nation’s postmasters, officers-in-charge and postmaster leave replacements. He was the organization’s national secretary-treasurer in 2005-06.
